I work on developing a new statistical method to estimate specie’s dispersal capacity in a metapopulation context from temporally punctual survey data. This method relies on the metapopulation capacity metric as developed by Hanski & Ovaskainen in Nature (2000). While there are some existing methods to estimate specie’s dispersal capacity, they all require data from surveys repeated over time. Yet, most of the ecological data sets are one-time surveys and thus cannot be analyzed with these existing methods. My project aims at providing a new method to analyse those data.
